Reading lesson: A Letter to Grandma

Dear Grandma,

Hello! How are you? It was so great to receive your last letter. I loved the card with the animals on it. They were so cute. It sounds like you are doing well and getting a lot of exercise. How is Grandpa? Is he still making breakfast every day?

I am doing well. I just finished my second year of university and am looking forward to year three. My classes were difficult, especially Chemistry, and I had to study a lot. I was not confident but I met a new friend, Keri, who helped me study. She’s a whiz at chemistry and answered all of my questions.

This summer I got a job working at the ice cream store. I start at 12:00 and end at 20:00, Monday through Friday. I’m lucky that I don’t have to work weekends, and I am happy that the customers are mostly kind and in a good mood. I notice that the most popular flavor is Mint Chip. As you know, my favorite flavor is Chocolate, and I get to take home a free ice cream at the end of my day. I am obviously eating a lot of ice cream this summer.
