This is a common question among English learners.&nbsp;Well, my dear students, they are different indeed!&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Wedding<\/em>&nbsp;is the word we use to talk about a marriage ceremony, also known as the&nbsp;<em>wedding day<\/em>.&nbsp;You can think of this as the event.&nbsp;Meanwhile,&nbsp;<em>marriage<\/em>&nbsp;refers to the legally recognized union of two people as partners in a personal relationship. Take a look at the sentences below to better understand when to use each word:&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>My sister\u2019s&nbsp;<em>wedding<\/em>&nbsp;is tomorrow. A man is called a widower and a woman is called a widow.&nbsp;<\/li><li><strong>Divorced:&nbsp;<\/strong>someone who was married in the past. For a wedding, you will probably need&nbsp;<strong>florists<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>photographers<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>DJs<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>wedding bands<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>bakeries<\/strong>, and more.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-choosing-the-wedding-dress\">Choosing the wedding dress<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Another important part is choosing the&nbsp;<strong>wedding dress<\/strong>. Brides will often visit a bridal shop and try on several different options until they choose the one. After choosing the one, it is common to have some&nbsp;<strong>fittings<\/strong>&nbsp;to make sure the dress looks perfect. Dresses are usually bought nine months before the big day.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Grooms will often wear a complete&nbsp;<strong>tuxedo<\/strong>, which includes a&nbsp;<strong>vest<\/strong>, a&nbsp;<strong>bow tie<\/strong>, and a&nbsp;<strong>jacket<\/strong>.&nbsp;<em>Tuxedos<\/em>&nbsp;are usually black or navy blue. The main difference between a tuxedo and a suit is that&nbsp;<em>tuxedos<\/em>&nbsp;have&nbsp;<strong>satin<\/strong>&nbsp;details.&nbsp;<em>Satin<\/em>&nbsp;is&nbsp;a smooth and glossy fabric, usually made of silk.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The last thing you may want to plan is a&nbsp;<strong>bachelor<\/strong><strong>\/<\/strong><strong>bachelorette party<\/strong>. Also known as&nbsp;<strong>stag weekend<\/strong>&nbsp;or&nbsp;<strong>stag party<\/strong>, this party is intended for the bride and groom to celebrate one last night with their friends. A&nbsp;<strong>bachelor party<\/strong>&nbsp;is celebrated by the groom and his friends, who are usually all male. A&nbsp;<strong>bachelorette party<\/strong>&nbsp;is celebrated by the bride and her friends, usually all female. However, there are no rules here. The most important thing is to have fun during your&nbsp;party.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-bridesmaids-and-more\">Bridesmaids and more&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We have talked about them before, but the two most important people in your wedding are you and your fiance. The friends chosen by him are known as&nbsp;<strong>groomsmen<\/strong>. The&nbsp;<strong>best man<\/strong>&nbsp;is the groom\u2019s right-hand man, and he usually is in charge of the bachelor party.&nbsp;<em>Groomsmen<\/em>&nbsp;tend to wear similar attires, just like the bride and her bridesmaids.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the ceremony, the groom and the bride will exchange&nbsp;<strong>wedding rings<\/strong>. The rings are carried by a&nbsp;<strong>ring bearer<\/strong>, which is usually a young boy. He is often accompanied by a<strong>&nbsp;flower girl<\/strong>, a young girl who tosses petals as the bride strolls down the aisle.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-after-the-wedding\">After the wedding&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The reception is over.
