The word genre<\/em> is a noun and it means \u201ca style, especially in the arts, that involves a particular set of characteristics.\u201d Basically, a genre<\/em> is a category. We use it to describe movies, books, and music. Here a few examples:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    How much do you know about the history of movies? Just to give you some context, movies date back to the 1890s. That\u2019s when the first moving picture cameras were invented. Since then, many things have evolved \u2014 including the movie genres. In the early days of cinema, movie genres were more defined.
